I’ve finally given in and started my own sports blog! I’m a true lover and follower of sports and so many recent changes in pro and college football have prompted me to begin sharing my thoughts with the world…hope you enjoy!
So, in the spirit of football, here’s a few of my predictions for coach openings…
- Jim Harbaugh is the next coach of the 49er’s…I’m 90% sure here. He can stay in the Bay Area and keep the family happy, more money, and it’s his dream. Also, is a team with a lot of pieces to make a quick turn around. *with the news that Luck is coming back to Stanford, I give 10% chance that he stays one more year to get the National Championship and bolts to the NFL in 2012.
- Bill Cowher will become the Dolphin’s coach…he said it himself that Miami was one of the 3 places he would go, the other 2 don’t have an opening. With family things different than when he left, he’s ready to get back on the sideline and will convince Parcell’s to hire him.
- Hue Jackson is the next coach of the Broncos – with Harbaugh out of the picture and Mularkey not as interested as Elway as hoping, he has to think out of the box and still make a splash. With Dumervil back from injury next season to help the D, they need a guy who can re-invigorate an offense that Mcdaniels ruined – starting with getting a good QB there. Jackson is legit, not just someone to interview to satisfy the Rooney Rule.
- Brady Hoke is the next coach at U of M – the fans are asking for someone they are familiar with and this decision will become Dave Brandon’s legacy as AD. They swung and missed with Miles when they had a team that was good for him to take over. He won’t come knowing what rebuilding needs to be done. Hoke has brought 2 other programs back to life and is a sensible pick here, as long as everyone understands that it will be a process to undo the damage from the Rich Rod era. They get a “Michigan Man” again – time will tell if it’s just in background or coaching philosophy too.
- Pitt will hire Tom Bradley, which they should have done the first time around. Pitt wants a guy who will make them play tough, who better than the DC from Linebacker U?
And the games this weekend…
- Colts over Jets – win big, one day Rex Ryan will learn to stop putting foot in mouth…good entertainment until then
- Ravens over Chiefs – Ravens D pulls out a close one, Chiefs in big trouble if Bowe isn’t back to 100%
- Packers over Eagles – they are too hot to pick against right now and Philly is banged up
- Seahawks over Saints *Upset Special* – might be because I want this, might be that the Saints are losing RB’s like mad…but I’m calling it
- Oregon will be the 2011 National Champions…I picked this back in September and still believe it. I’m also hoping they serve justice here since the NCAA won’t and sCam Newton shouldn’t even be playing
Happy football watching…plus college basketball is heating up again 🙂

I give Harbaugh a 25% chance of returning to Stanford and a 75% chance of ending up in Miami
